Psychedelics might interact with the brain by turning off the brain’s default mode network and affecting a thin sheet of gray matter called the claustrum. This could shake up communication between different regions of the brain.

Hallucinogenic drugs—popularly called psychedelics—have been used by human societies for thousands of years. Today, scientists are taking a second look at many of these mind-altering substances–both natural and synthetic–and discovering that they can have profoundly positive clinical impacts, helping patients struggling with a range of afflictions from addiction to depression and PTSD.

  1. And imagine how sublime they will be on someone who’s not doing it for some type of a cure or fix, but surely for the absolute pleasure of the experience

  2. I was on 100ug once (acid). That was single-handedly the most life changing experience I have ever had (more life-changing than my near-death experience in a pitch-black dark ocean drifting for 3 hours and got rescued) During that trip every single social norm was challenged and broken. The only thing that made sense to me then was that there is life and there is nothing. Death is the only thing that separates the two. And in this entire world, that is the only thing that matters. I had this trip for half a year now, and I remember to slowly get back the feeling of “myself” was very strange. Strange in a way that I know this feeling of “myself” is fake and purely just a delusional construct of my first-person narrative in my brain, but this feeling of “myself” is also nice and easy for me live the rest of my life. To be completely out of myself and reconstruct my entire world is hard and I might not be ready for it. But since the trip, I have been reshaping myself everyday. It is now very easy for me to only do things that I think is right to do and not do things that I don’t agree to. That trip truly ripped my brain and my identity apart completely in a way that I cannot express (you have to experience it yourself to know what I mean and that experience for sure is different for everybody.) The clarity that I am left with is the greatest gift I can ever ask for.

  3. It’s honestly crazy that he said it was the best headache that he ever had in his life because the first time I ever took mushrooms. I felt like I was having full body orgasms the whole time. It was amazing. But after I had the worst headache I’ve ever had in my life. I wonder how much it changed my brain and in what capacity

  4. Don't be fooled by the hype, it's not all nice flowers and sunshine, sometimes bad things happen… Sometimes you meet bad entities on DMT for instance, or become delirious and stuck in bad places or modes I guess on dissociatives, that being said, these are the best drugs that exist, they can have the most profound positive effects, I'm just saying remember there's a cost for everything, or, a risk at least

  5. Psilocybin saved my life. My anxiety depression cptsd audhd ruled my life. I never felt peace, was stuck dwelling on bad experiences and repetitive frustration and pain. I was miserable all the time, I had to mask just to be around people and pretend to function. I was suicidal most of the time. Started psilocybin and did a few museum doses in btwn microdosing, and within a cpl of weeks, 85% of all of that faded away. It was like a surgical removal of broken parts of my psyche replaced with new improved pieces that fit perfectly. Anger, regret, sadness.. brought down to minimum manageable "normal" levels. It's as close to a miracle as I can imagine. I only have to redose every few weeks or months, just as needed.

  6. I started micro dosing medically and my PTSD was cured also i felt so much love for others and no fear. I don’t fear the dark or night anymore. I also kept feeling love for everyone. I felt like i was Hitler and I was his victims and I was me but I was also those i hate. We were all 1. I now see things very differently

  7. The sad part of what I do is that I try to guide people to Psychedelics, the greatest thing imaginable, but they are so closedminded, so dogmatic, so arrogant that they will never reach it. The saddest part is that I know this perfectly well, I know exactly what they missed, but they have no clue. I have the saddest job in the world: leading people to the greatest thing imaginable, Infinite Love, for free, only to watch them reject the guidance out of sheer ignorance, closedmindedness, and pigheadedness. I see it every week, mind after mind rejecting Infinity. Just imagine, rejecting Psychedelics out of pure pigheadedness. What a loss! What a self-own! But what can I do? I can’t force Infinite Love on you.

  8. My journey with psychedelics has been incredibly beneficial. They’ve played a major role in alleviating my anxiety and depression, significantly enhanced my mental health and quality of life.

  9. Psychedelics like psilocybin mushrooms are being studied for helping with mental health issues, but their effects vary, so caution and professional guidance are essential. Always consult a doctor before trying any treatment, and be aware of your local laws. Your safety comes first

  10. my studies have led me to understand our nature that we often push away due to survival needs. A emphasized reminder of how sensitive we truly are and how our surroundings can affect us

  11. psychedelics have crazy power to hep people its crazy how the government pushes anti depressants when psilocybin is a life changing cure for many. LEGALIZE PSYCHEDELICS FOR MEDICAL USE!!!

  12. I don't have time to wait for these old a holes to wake up!
People i care for are suffering.
only because of the stigma and long lasting status of these remedies, they'll be stuck in their misery until the day they die.

as a person of the arts, i always knew these substances are to be respected and indeed they've helped me immensely. I just wish that path was less chaotic due to the illegality and ignorance that exists in the realms of the masses.

  13. “It’s like a snow globe “?
No. It’s like experiencing the most of everything in your life. The worst and the best at the same time. Unexplainable in words.

It’s neither good or bad and “science” still can’t figure it out.
