Is the plastic tip of steam hazardous because plastic cab take upto 65 above that will turn into somthing else will be cancerous did u look into that ?!

I will wait for v1.2 I suppose. Absolutely need to have black. Launching with white is a mystery, but they are a growing company so who are we to question? They hopefully have done their marketing research and have data showing white coffee appliances sell at higher rates…. Right? 🤔

You mention both machines make same quality espresso, but with the higher flow rate in the Bengle, would that not result in it being able to get closer to lever style output?
Is the new espresso machine also 50% louder than the extremely loud Decent?

It’s a shame we cannot find a way to provide more steam power from 120v outlets. How could you improve efficiency to achieve this is the question!
@decentespresso I note that the Bengle requires a 15A outlet, which is fine for commercial sites.
However, would it be viable to have a domestic version suitable for 10A outlets, by sacrificing warm-up time, steaming pressure/time and the cup warmer?
I hope the Bengle will be available in black. Because the Maro is and in 2026 I will upgrade to either one of them – but the color black is a must for me in my stainless steel kitchen with all the other kitchen gadgets in black already. Willing to wait, but an announcmemt would be helpful😅
Will there be a de1.1 in terms of HW refresh to address some of the things you discuss in the differences? For example steel instead of ceramic for the water tank
Does visualizer upload work on the Bengle? That would be a great improvement!
In all seriousness; great incremental improvements but no real breakthroughs – which is obvious since the DE1 is light years ahead of everything else already! Cup storage on the top is a no brainer but I hope you can deactivate the heater.

You can tell me the teflon is food safe all you want and the baby bottle steam tip as well, but I and many others like me are just not going to ever believe that. Stainless steel (and some other metals), enamelware (glass coated metal), actual glass, ceramic. Can't trust anything else.

My best friend said to me, "I could be wearing the most beautiful cashmere sweater and all you'd see is the little hole in the back." She is right. I'm obsessive compulsive about flaws. When Decent was on Kickstarter I almost pulled the trigger but decided to wait. I live by the maxim, "Never buy Version 1.0 of anything." I attended many live video streams with John Buckman. I've sent him emails and chats expressing my concerns about the DE1. He addressed every one of the questions. John is simply amazing. His passion for making the very best, high quality espresso machine is perhaps only rivaled by Kees van der Westin and Jason Prefontaine of Slayer. Both, however, make uncompromising espresso machines that are double the price of the Bengle. Right here, right now, the Decent Bengle is the espresso machine I fancifully dreamed about when the Decent was first offered on Kickstarter. I see no flaws. I see no holes. What John and his passionate and incredibly smart team did with the Decent Bengle is superlative. So am I going to finally pull the trigger and buy one? Unfortunately, not at this time. Perhaps if I lived with one for 6 months I might be convinced but we all know this isn't possible. Like a pure black cashmere sweater, I like to keep things simple. I'd rather have an Olympia Cremina. Oh yes, I'm aware of its flaws but it's mechanical simplicity but it's beyond reproach. How do you improve a spoon?

Thank you for this comparison video. I'd like to change my Bezzera BZ10 soon, maybe Q1/2026. At the top of the lis is the bengle atm because of better sound, steaming, design and build in scale. Can't wait 🙂

I do not believe price premium of the Bengle over DE1 is the concern but instead giving the changes in the market the DE1 no longer warrants its premium over competitors. Meaning the DE1 should have come down in price.
