He played Gary Hart in The Front Runner (2018). It’s a biopic of Hart’s political career/campaign towards his failed presidential candidacy. It’s pretty good. Hart was a presidential runner-up back in the 80s. He lost to Walter Mondale who lost to George HW Bush in the end.

I don't know if anyone ever got the fact that Charlie was never Max's dad because when he tells him how old he is sure he was 11 but he says he's 9 with confusion in Charlie's facial expression. That's the thing he wanted to tell Max at the end of the movie when Max tells him that his secret is safe with him so he sold the kid that was never biologically his. That's why there want ever a custody story line in this movie because of that reason.
